As one of pop music’s biggest icons plans her return to the game, we’ve scoured the internet for every juicy bit of information we can get on Britney Spears’ upcoming 10th studio album.
It’s been two years since the Princess of Pop made a return to form and gave birth to 18 solid bangers and mid-tempos with her critically-acclaimed album Glory, but she’s wasting no time getting back into the studio to give us moar.
We’re ready for Britney to bring out some summer smash hits – here’s everything we know so far.
When is it going to be released?
While rumours of big album release dates come thick and fast in the age of social media, things have been surprisingly quiet regarding Britney’s 10th studio album.
We do know, however, that she’s been recording new material for over a year now – in an interview with the Ceaser’s Vegas Player blog from November 2016, the former Sin City resident revealed she’d already been back in the studio.
“I’m not sure what I want the next album to sound like,” she said. “I just know that I’m excited to get into the studio again and actually have already been back recording.”
With a Piece Of Me world tour on the way this summer, which will feature stops across America and Europe, it’s safe to say we’ll be getting some form of new music, and right now we’d take anything.
Who is she working with?
Much of Glory’s magic came from Britney’s collaborations with songwriting duo Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels, who co-penned album highlights including Slumber Party, Change Your Mind, Do You Wanna Come Over? and Just Like Me.
Fans will no doubt be ecstatic to hear, then, that the trio have joined forces once again to write for the singer’s 10th studio album.
During the Golden Globes in January, BuzzFeed’s Christian Zamora spoke to Justin on the red carpet, where the hitmaker forewent the typical hush-hush approach and instead dropped two meltdown-inducing words: “Just wait.”
Perhaps we’re jumping to conclusions, but this sounds like something’s coming very soon…
Of course, we don’t know if the songs they’ve made together will make the album, but given the success of the hits they’ve penned for the likes of Justin Bieber (Sorry, Friends) and Selena Gomez (Good For You, Hands To Myself), we have a feeling they will.
When is she going on tour?
Over the past four years, fans outside the United States have had no choice but to shell out for expensive flights and hotels (not to mention those ticket prices) if they wanted to see their queen perform live in Las Vegas.
But this year, our prayers were answered when Britney announced that she’d be taking her iconic Piece Of Me show on the road, with dates across the United States and Ireland, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, and France.
In the UK, she’ll play Scarborough, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, three shows in London, and a special performance at Brighton Pride – you can check out the full list of dates and purchase tickets (if you’re lucky!) on Britney’s official website.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed for more dates or festival performances this year.
